About Dave Doody: Dave Doody works as a senior engineer for Caltech at NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory, leading the Europa Clipper Realtime Flight Operations team, whose members send commands to the Spacecraft and work with the Deep Space Network to collect the various kinds of data for the Mission’s navigators, scientists, and system engineers. He did the same kind of work on Cassini’s twenty-year flight, meanwhile, hawking “surprise” views of Saturn and Titan from the sidewalk. He’s the author of the “Basics of Space Flight” training guide (NASA Basics).
